Traumatic Series

The relationship between the subject and the spectator is where the true expression of creativity lies. My ” Traumatic Series” is based on the idea of shared life experiences. I am exploring how a personal experience of one person can manifest itself in a very similar way in another person’s life.

By using my own life experiences as a departure point for my work, I strive to create an open dialogue with the viewer. I have chosen to use photography and sculptural elements in my work as the primary mediums to create a visual representation of these experiences. Photography acts to create an index of a moment passing or a document of an event, while the sculptural elements provide a tactile and organic aspect to my work. The mediums and subject matter that I choose to use is ultimately dependent on the viewer’s interaction with the work. This interaction is the final element that completes each piece of art that I create.
